Probably the most common monkey in India, especially along the roadside and in towns (in this case in Kumily, at our B&B).
The originals of this design were used for transporting rice from the Backwater paddy fields - now the designs house luxurious one or two cabin accommodation for tourists (over 1000 navigate the Backwaters during the tourist season).
